Overtime

In the event of overtime, each period of overtime shall be three minutes in length. There shall be a two-minute interval between the end of regulation play and the first overtime period. If additional overtime periods are required, there shall be a two-minute interval following each overtime period.

Each period of overtime will begin with a tip‐off in the centre circle. During the first period of overtime, teams continue in the same direction of play that they followed in the second half. In any subsequent overtime periods, the direction of play will alternate.

Teams are given one additional 30-second time‐out at the start of each overtime period. This is in addition to any time-outs that they may have remaining from regulation play.

When one team is ahead in points at the end of an overtime period, they are declared the winner.
